Speedway Children's Charities Sonoma is proud to announce a new grant, in tribute to the late Earl Broderick of Broderick Engineering (Sonoma, CA). The Earl Broderick "Building Futures" Grant will award an annual grant of $20,000 to (1) Sonoma County youth-based 501(c)(3) non-profit with a focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) education and/or a program designed to support and guide youth to achieve a career in a STEAM-related field.

In order to qualify, the following requirements must be met:

  • Organization must be a 501c3 non-profit for minimum one year (programs that are not a 501c3 will not be considered)
  • The program must directly support children and/or teens
  • The program must be located in Sonoma County, and primarily serve children from Sonoma County
  • The program must already be funded and in effect. Proposals for potential programs will not be considered, although the grant can support additional needs/opportunities for an existing program.
  • Budget for the program must meet or exceed $20,000.
  • The program must focus on STEAM education and/or a program designed to support youth towards gaining employment in a STEAM-related field (agriculture, technology, engineering, science)

Organizations can apply for both an SCC Sonoma general grant and the Earl Broderick "Building Futures" Grant in the same calendar year. We recommend organizations apply for both grants synonymously, as applications will not be accepted after the deadline regardless of qualifying status.

Applications that are selected for second round interviews will be asked to provide background organizational information. Applications are due by midnight on Aug. 1, 2024.

To apply:

  1. Please fill out an SCC Sonoma General Grant Application. NOTE: You can apply for a different program within your organization and different grant amount on this application.
  2. Please fill out the application for the program relative to the Building Futures grant below.
