2022 SCC Bristol Grants
Speedway Children's Charities is dedicated to helping children. We operate as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and produce and coordinate various events throughout the year to raise funds that are distributed to worthy children's organizations. It is our desire to meet the critical needs of all children.
You are eligible to apply for funding from the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities if you are an existing 501(c)(3) non-profit charity whose primary focus is children. We serve the counties of Carter, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington in Tennessee and Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington and Wise in Virginia.
SCC is adopting a new focus and priority of giving. Beginning this grant application season and beyond, there will be specific priority to fund organizations helping the homeless and orphan/foster population and victims of sex trafficking. While these are areas of priority, all applications will receive consideration.
Please note that the Round 1 of the 2022 grant application cycle has closed. Information on the 2023 Grant application process will be announced in January 2023.

2022 Jeff Byrd Grant
The Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that the Jeff Byrd Grant has been established in honor of the former Bristol Motor Speedway President and General Manager. Jeff was a very special man who loved children and lived by a very simple yet world-changing mantra: To whom much is given much is required. SCC Bristol wishes to honor Mr. Byrd by acting on those words and giving a $50,000 grant to an agency who will pay it forward to the children they serve. It is with this in mind that the project must be something exceptional.
The 2022 Jeff Byrd Grant Application document below outlines the information required for application submission and consideration. Applicants for the Jeff Byrd Grant MUST also apply for the Speedway Children's Charities Bristol Chapter Grant. The Jeff Byrd Grant cannot be applied for solely, and cannot be for the same project being applied for in the SCC Grant application.
New this year! Please submit, with your Jeff Byrd Grant Application, a 3-5 minute video detailing the project you are requesting funding for, the staff that will be overseeing the project, as well as any additional information that may help in the selection process. Videos may be formatted in any standard format (such as MP4, MOV, WMV, AVI, etc.) and can be submitted using email or a file transfer service (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.).
Please note that applications packets must be postmarked no later than September 1, 2022.
