Speedway Children's Charities is dedicated to helping children. We operate as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and produce and coordinate various events throughout the year to raise funds that are distributed to worthy children's organizations. It is our desire to meet the critical needs of all children. SCC Bristol distributed a total of $676,436 in 2022 to support many of the rural-area child-focused agencies throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
Eligibility
You are eligible to apply for funding from the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities if you are an existing 501(c)(3) non-profit charity whose primary focus is children. We serve the counties of Carter, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington in Tennessee and Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington and Wise in Virginia. Priority consideration will be given to organizations helping the homeless, orphan and foster population, and victims of sex trafficking. All applications will receive consideration and all eligible organizations are encouraged to apply.
2023 Grant Cycle
The initial process for the 2023 grant cycle has come to an end. Applications are accepted will be contacted via email and asked to submit additional application information, including financial documents and proof of non-profit status. 2023 Jeff Byrd Grant
The Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that the Jeff Byrd Grant has been established in honor of the former Bristol Motor Speedway President and General Manager. This $50,000 grant will be given to one organization each year.
Applicants MUST apply for the Bristol Speedway Children’s Charities Grant as well as the Jeff Byrd Grant using the online application AND the Word documents in the links below. The Jeff Byrd Grant cannot be applied for solely, and cannot be for the same project being applied for in the SCC Grant application. The application must be postmarked by midnight on September 1, 2023.
