Since 1982, Speedway Children’s Charities has granted over $61 million to local kids in need. For many years we have focused on spreading funds to meet a wide variety of needs and giving grants to numerous charities. Many programs fill book bags, provide school tools, and support literacy programs. These are true needs, but they receive funding from many sources. And while our community faces constant hardships, the growing numbers of orphaned children and human-trafficking victims are abundant and closer to our homes than anyone may realize. It is a $150 billion black-market of evil, with Charlotte ranked in the top 20 cities.

As a result, SCC is adopting a new focus and priority of giving. Beginning this grant application season and beyond, there will be a specific priority to fund organizations helping the homeless and orphan/foster communities and victims of sex trafficking. This focus comes with a desire to make greater-impact funding critical needs.

Eligible children's charities located in and providing services to children in the Metro Charlotte area are invited to submit proposals based upon the criteria presented on this web page. Please note that the Round 1 of the 2022 grant application cycle has closed. Information on the 2023 Grant application process will be announced in January 2023.

Please email Lisa Starnes at [email protected] with any questions. We look forward to continuing our legacy of helping kids in need throughout the greater Charlotte area.
