What a great race weekend we had here in Kentucky, raising funds to help local children in need!

The Kentucky Chapter of SCC would like to thank all of the sponsors, celebrities, contributors, participants and volunteers who helped us make this such a special weekend for our community. With your help, we were able to raise $50,000 from our race weekend events and activities.

Our 4th Annual Pulling for Kids Charity Clay Shoot presented by The NRA Foundation kicked off race weekend on Wednesday, July 6. Elk Creek Hunt Club hosted our event, which featured NASCAR XFINITY Series Driver Joey Gase, Sportsman Channel's "Innerloc's Out There" Host Corey Brossman, former University of Kentucky National Champion & MVP Jack "Goose" Givens and Kentucky Senate Majority Leader Damon Thayer. The NRA Foundation, Ohio Valley Asphalt and Coca-Cola returned as sponsors again this year. One of the best additions this year was entertainment by Beretta's National Team Trick Shooter, Scott Robertson, who wowed the crowd with his trickery, quick trigger finger and amazing skill. Keep an eye on our social media pages to find out how you can participate and become a sponsor at next year's event.

At Kentucky Speedway, we also hosted several other activities to entertainment the fans and supporters of SCC. The SCC Activities Tent was set up near the Main Gate throughout the weekend and featured not only putt-putt and mini basketball, but we also had a silent auction for a different item each day. In addition, we had different prizes per day, featuring donated racing experiences at two of the areas local karting facilities. Lastly, fans made donations for pieces of the track's old SAFER barrier and used race tires.

Congratulations to Dan Silberback on winning two silent auction packages at the tent! In addition, we would like to recognize our daily grand prize winners: Nick Milburn (Thursday), Kaelyn Sutton (Friday) and Victoria Gagle (Saturday). The SCC Activities Tent will make its next appearance on Saturday, September 24 at Kentucky Speedway for the NASCAR XFINITY Series race. Hours of operation and specific activities will be posted at a later date.

The 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament was played in several of Kentucky Speedway's Campgrounds. Before and after the storm that blew through on Friday, fans participated in the tournament, along with those who came out on Saturday. The tournament culminated with the Championship being played in Ponderosa Campground. Congratulations to this year's top two teams - Noel True and Greg Estes (1st Place) and Alex Surface-Wiehebrink and Charles Bowen (2nd Place).

Once again, we had a great turnout for our 5th Annual Ride of a Lifetime Live Auction. The highlights of the auction were the rides we auctioned that gave our fans and supporters the opportunity to ride in the back of a Parade Lap truck with their favorite drivers prior to Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. This included the final ride for Tony Stewart, always a fan favorite in our auction. In addition, several pieces of racing memorabilia were auctioned, including sheet metal, racing experiences, race day experiential packages, used firesuits, autographed race tires, autographed flags and more. Make sure you check out our social media pages for information on next year's auction.

Finally, we held the first Bluegrass Bucket Brigade at Kentucky Speedway, which essentially features local non-profit groups who came out in support of SCC and passed buckets through the grandstands to collect donations from the fans during the race on Saturday evening. Being the first time we've held this activity, we were very pleased with the groups who assisted our SCC Staff and how well received this was by our fans. Be sure to look for our Bucket Brigade throughout the grandstands at future races.

The Kentucky Chapter of SCC greatly appreciates the support we receive from everyone in our community and those who travel in for race weekend. Together, we all can make a difference in the lives of children in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana with your contributions to our organization. We'll see you in September!
