Runners and walkers receive a sneak peek of Ford Speedway In Lights at the Sunday, Nov. 9 SUBWAY® Speedway In Lights 5K presented by Fleet Feet Sports.

The 3.1-mile race, which raises funds in support of the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, winds runners through the annual holiday light display, providing participants the season's first look at the more than 2 million twinkling bulbs illuminating Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS).

Ending on the backstretch of the Last Great Colosseum, the top three runners in 12 different age categories receive prizes awarded after the last participant crosses the finish line and all are invited to a post-race party in the BMS infield.

The Speedway In Lights 5K kicks off at 6 p.m., and adults wishing to enter the Run/Walk may do so for $25 in advance of the event or $25 the day of the race. Children 12 and under may enter for $13. Children aged three and under may participate at no cost and will not be timed.

All pre-registered participants receive a long-sleeve event t-shirt. The top three finishers among both male and female runners receive event medallions in the following categories: under 10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and over. Children also receive a finisher medal.

Online registration is now open with registration also available the day of the event. All those wishing to be timed must register by 4 p.m. on Nov. 9, and only pre-registered participants are guaranteed an event shirt. Friends and family members are able to make online donations in support of participants, all of which benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities and local children's organizations.

In addition to SUBWAY® and Fleet Feet Sports, Speedway Children's Charities would also like to thank WCYB News 5, Tri-Cities CW 4, Fox Tri-Cities, Pepsi, Food City, 98.5 WTFM, VIP Seen and Bristol Herald Courier for their support.

In 2013, the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities distributed $742,000 to 87 children's agencies in 16 counties surrounding Bristol Motor Speedway. Since its inception in 1996, the organization has raised more than $8 million benefitting children's organizations in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
