SOMEONE CAN WIN UP TO $250,000

SCC'S 50/50 RAFFLE TO BENEFIT LOCAL CHILDREN DURING BRISTOL’S BIGGEST YEAR EVER

The Speedway Children’s Charities 50/50 Raffle presented by Grand Home Furnishings is off to a great start as full details were announced during a press conference earlier today.

Claudia Byrd, executive director of Speedway Children’s Charities, was joined on Saturday by NHRA Funny Car driver Matt Hagan and NHRA Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson. Both drivers have ties to the local community and have been supporters of numerous SCC events including the annual Bristol Dragway Celebrity Shooting Tournament presented by NRA, which was held this past Thursday. Both drivers will represent the charity by displaying SCC decals on their car during the race weekend.

"It was an honor to have NHRA drivers Allen Johnson and Matt Hagan to help us bring attention to Speedway Children’s Charities 50/50 Raffle presented by Grand Home Furnishings," said Claudia Byrd, executive director of SCC. “They have meant a lot to SCC and we are excited to see them represent the charity as they go down the dragstrip.”

“I’m very involved locally in a lot of different activities,” said Johnson, the 2012 Pro Stock world champion and a native of nearby Greeneville, Tenn. “This area really needs it and SCC provides such a great service here.”

Two-time Funny Car world champion Hagan added “We want to go out there and do all we can. Let’s spend some money, have some fun and raise money for local kids.”

The raffle, which is off to a healthy start, features tickets that are $10 per person with the winner receiving up to $250,000. Guests can enter the raffle now at www.bristol.speedwaycharities.org. In addition, tickets will be sold during this weekend’s Thunder Valley Nationals, August’s Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race week and September’s Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol, as well as the Bristol Motor Speedway ticket office.

The winning ticket will be drawn during the third quarter of the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol on Saturday, Sept. 10.
