Speedway Children's Charities announces $1 Million Dollar Sponsor
LAS VEGAS, NV (February 29, 2008) - Speedway Children's Charities today announced that AutoTrader.com, the ultimate automotive marketplace, has committed to a $1 million two-year partnership in support of the charity, a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for children in need.
"From the beginning it was obvious that AutoTrader.com and Speedway Children's Charities share the same goal, a desire to give back to and make a difference in their local communities," said General Sadler, Executive Director of Speedway Children's Charities.
With the signing of the $1 million commitment from AutoTrader.com, Speedway Children's Charities will also benefit from a match of another $1 million from founder Bruton Smith. "We have been seeking a $1 million sponsor for years and I offered to match the challenge. We are delighted to have partnered with AutoTrader.com as a sponsor. Speedway Children's Charities needs to continue the challenge for $1 million sponsors because we can never have enough money for the children," says Smith.
According to Bill Templeton Executive Vice President of Operations, "So much can be accomplished when we, as individuals and as a company, join together with caring organizations in the community and Speedway Children's Charities is a perfect partner for our objectives."
As a national sponsor of Speedway Children's Charities, AutoTrader.com will support events at tracks coast-to-coast. This series of fundraising events is expected to attract thousands of participants and provide employees and race fans alike an opportunity to help SCC continue to care for children in need. The complete schedule of events can be found at www.speedwaycharities.org.
