Speedway Children's Charities Opens Gates to "Victory Lane" for Fans Nationwide
NASCAR fans know how hard it is for their favorite drivers to get to Victory Lane. But Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) is teaming up with Get-Etched.com to give racing fans across the country their chance to do just that … literally carve a family photograph of their choice onto black granite walls to be built at all six Speedway Motorsports (SMI) tracks.
Construction will soon begin on "Friends of Speedway Children's Charities Victory Lanes" at SMI tracks in California, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Fans have the opportunity to purchase space in an SCC Victory Lane of their choice, with net proceeds benefiting Speedway Children's Charities. For a fee of $300, plus shipping and handling, those who purchase space in SCC Victory Lanes will receive one 8.5X11 etching shipped to their home and a 5X7 version that will be hung on one of the "Friends Walls" at an SMI track.
"Drivers write their names into the record book all the time," Major General Thomas A. Sadler, USAF (Ret.), SCC executive director, said at today's announcement. "Now, our many loyal fans can have their images etched onto our 'Friends Walls' at the track, and feel the pride of having done something good to support kids and families in need with a permanent symbol of their generosity."
Each of the six SMI tracks will be limited to 10,000 etchings per wall. "Visually, this will be a striking addition to the landscape at our track," said H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of Lowe's Motor Speedway, site of this weekend's Bank of America 500. "But more importantly, it will provide a tangible, hands-on demonstration of the kindness and generosity of our fans."
Get-Etched.com will accept both original prints and digital images for processing and etching, with space also available for a personal message. Those interested in purchasing etchings can do so by visiting the company's web site at www.get-etched.com or www.FriendsWall.com.
